SYSTEM

Below is a short description of what we currently do. Contact us if you need more information, we’re always happy to discuss our full range of capabilities.

If there’s something you want that isn’t on our list, let us know and we can discuss how we can build a solution that fits you

SYNC WMS
Hosting

There’s a lot of discussions around the best way to house a WMS System. The argument that the software should be housed on a client’s server is still very valid. The ability to call information is fast and controllable and no need to rely on the strength of the internet to process actions. The cloud though represents the future, the ability to decentralise functions and shift the responsibly of reliability back to the supplier. Both options work, both have advantages and disadvantages, which is why we’ve decided to walk the middle ground.

Inventory

Having accurate inventory holdings creates trust within departments and companies. Having the right stock at the right time is essential to selling, either via wholesale or through eCommerce. Thats why we’ve included location based tracking, adjustments with reason codes, location transfers, cycle counts and stocktakes to ensure you know exactly where stock is at all times.

Scanning

We are not locked into a single type of operating system. Whether its an Android phone or tablet or an iPhone or iPad, due to the set up of our system, we can use them all.

Packing

Having accurate inventory holdings creates trust within departments and companies. Having the right stock at the right time is essential to selling, either via wholesale or through eCommerce. Thats why we’ve included location based tracking, adjustments with reason codes, location transfers, cycle counts and stocktakes to ensure you know exactly where stock is at all times.

Picking

There are 3 main picking functions in Sync WMS:

  1. Single – order picking tells your employee what order they’re picking, what product is needed and where the product is located in your space. Each product needs to be scanned at the point of picking to confirm the correct unit will be processed for the order.
  2. Wave – A wave in the ocean starts out the back, builds momentum and moves towards the beach where it finishes. It doesn’t stop halfway; it doesn’t change direction or deviate from its course. Such is wave picking. Our system takes multiple orders, from multiple customers, checks the location of where each product is within the warehouse and formulates the most efficient travel path to pick these orders.
  3. Batch – Think of a baker baking a batch of blue berry muffins. The baker may have multiple customers wanting blue berry muffins, so he makes enough to fulfill those orders. Batch picking is much the same, we look at the total number of single unit orders that have been allocated for picking. Our system tells the picking to pick that total number and return it to the packing station. The person packing scans the SKU and our system processes the corresponding order and debits the stock as it ship confirms it. In this instance, 1 person has single handily picked multiple orders from the one location, as opposed to back and forth to the same location multiple times.
Shipping

Once the unit for the order is confirmed as being accurate, the system confirms the order as being closed. Once closed, our system takes that order and allocates it to the specified carrier. It’s at this point our system automatically prints the carriers connote for you to adhere to the package. We send the shipping information back to your system, ensuring you have full tracking of the customer order and giving you the ability to send full visibility of tracking to your customer.

Customer

Data Another way to speed up the despatching for orders is to upload a current customer profile. This usually includes their address, contact information and email. We use this information to consolidate orders at the point of picking and despatching, simplifying the invoicing process. If needed, we can invoice the customer on your behalf and email them the invoice of the order despatched. We’ll also send you the same file to absorb into your system.

Product Master

One way to speed up the process of despatching orders is to upload a file of all your products. From each order a customer places there can be several pieces of data to identify the product (I.e. Colour, Size, expiry date, etc). For the most part, all these attributes are allocated to 1 piece of data that is identifies what the product is. This is usually the barcode.

Reporting

We provide you with 5 basic, but powerful reports to help you understand your operation: Receiving: Total units received Picking: Total orders outstanding to be picked Total orders picked Shipping: Total orders shipped Total units picked Total units shipped These basic metrics indicate how many orders are to be despatched for the day, if there are any outstanding from the day before. Available as a web link, multiple people can have access. As efficiencies and productivity is critical to a warehousing environment, knowing the detail of the day to day becomes just as important as actual sales.
